Thirty years.
Ten industries.
One question.

Rapula Modibane has spent three decades asking businesses and institutions a better question than the one they walked in with. This is the record.

The man

Rapula Modibane speaking on stage

Rapula Modibane is a COMENSA-accredited coach and the founder of Retlhalefile Holding Group. COMENSA is the professional body for coaches and mentors in South Africa, recognised by SAQA.

His career runs across investment banking, insurance, energy, health, education, mining, arts and culture, agriculture and transport. That spread is the point: he has watched the same problems appear in ten different costumes, which is why he tends to recognise yours quickly.

His practice is built around rural black women and youth entrepreneurs — the founders most likely to be told no by a system that was not designed with them in mind, and most likely to succeed once the paperwork and the strategy stop working against them.

The company

We put the client — a person, an organisation, a community — at the centre of the intervention, not at the end of it.

Retlhalefile Holding Group has worked in development consulting since 2020. In that time it has been engaged by provincial government, by two of the country’s major mining operations, by a financial-industry association, and by the training institutions that sit between them.

The company works in two directions at once: helping institutions design, fund and run enterprise development programmes, and coaching the entrepreneurs those programmes are meant to reach.
